About me

Hi, My name is Ashlyn and I am a designer based in Northern Sydney with a cumulative 9 years across design and research.

I am currently a UX designer working at Westpac who has previously worked as a UX designer at Volt Bank, an industrial designer/technician at 3D Printing Studios Sydney and Singapore, researcher at University of Technology, Sydney, and tertiary educator at University of Technology Sydney and University of Sydney.

From learning about products by physically taking them apart as a child, to designing interactions through digital interfaces as an adult, understanding the details of how things are used, perceived to be used, and how they should or shouldn’t work has always fascinated me, despite a physical or digital nature.

As a side passion, since 2018 I have also volunteered as the front woman of a mission-based, rock/pop cover band called Amber Lights, and my natural curiosity has led me to other hobbies in my spare time, such as rock climbing, scuba diving, sewing, and team sports.
